Yorkshire Terriers, affectionately known as "Yorkies," offer big personalities in a small package. Though members of the Toy Group, they are terriers by nature and are brave, determined, investigative and energetic. They have long, luxurious blue and tan coats. This portable pooch is one of the most popular breeds according to AKC registration statistics, and matures to about 4 – 7 lbs. Right Breed for You? Yorkies are easily adaptable to all surroundings, travel well and make suitable pets for many homes. Due to their small size, they require limited exercise, but need daily interaction with their people. Their long coat requires regular brushing.
The Dachshund, meaning "badger dog" in German, is a lively breed with a friendly personality and keen sense of smell. Known for their long and low bodies, they are eager hunters that excel in both above- and below-ground work. They are one of the most popular breeds according to AKC registration statistics, and the mini dachshund matures to under 11 lbs. Right Breed for You? They require moderate exercise, and can adapt to most living environments. Depending on their coat type, Dachshunds may need regular grooming.

The dorkie designer breed is a new one to most people, but is catching on. We get a lot of repeat customers, and families that cannot decide between getting a Yorkie, or a Dachshund! Our Dorkie (Dachshund/yorkie) puppies are bred with distinct goals in mind. These puppies are not accidents. They are planned and highly desired puppies. Some of our goals include reducing allergen causing dander, health related problems, and coat care. Increasing "cute" factor, intelligence and awesome temperaments. These goals are reached as an outcome of increasing genetic pools by the mixing of well established breeds. They are further enhanced through careful planning in our breeding program from many years of practical experience.

What goes into the breeding of our dorkies? Basically the combination of the adorable yorkie and the loyal dachshund. Our dogs are excellent specimens of their breeds. We also breed dorkie moms to yorkie dads to produce the popular F1B dorkie, or to break it down, 3/4 yorkie and 1/4 dachshund. Most of these puppies look very much like yorkies when they are grown, but have the advantage of better health and a more calm temperament. We have been getting a lot of excellent feedback from our past dorkie puppy clients.
