| I and my husband, as well as our two teenage sons, have enjoyed raising dogs for about 15 yrs. We have had several different breeds of dogs through the years. My husband and I are both from families that have enjoyed hunting with dogs over the years. But, we now raise only companion type puppies for the sheer enjoyment and company that they provide. However, many of our puppies have gone on to be therapy dogs, and we love to hear about the service that they are providing. Our kennel is located beside our house on our 3 acre mini farm. In the past we have raised rabbits, cats and chickens for 4 - H projects, but we are now only raising dogs. Our dogs have been used for some very enjoyable and rewarding 4 - H projects, also! Our dogs that are not currently in our house, are situated comfortably in our heated and/or cooled kennel buildings with adjoining ample runs for exercising at the dog's free will. Our dogs are fed high quality food including Diamond naturals, Taste of the Wild, and sumptuous dishes made in our kitchen especially for our dogs, with canine nutrition as the guiding factor. We also offer them toys and chew bones for their enjoyment as well as fresh water at all times. We clean our kennels daily. Puppies are seen by our vet, and are tested for parasites, heart murmur, and general health. Our vaccination and worming schedule is as follows: Intra-nasal Bordetella/Parainfluenza at 3 or 4 weeks of age, a straight Parvo vaccine(NeoPar) at 5 weeks and a five way consisting of Distemper, Adenovius Type 2, Pararinfluenza and Parvo at 7 wks. Another dose of the five way puppy shot is administered at 11 and 15 wks. if the puppy is still in our care. We do require that all puppies purchased from us are continued in their shots and wormings as they would be cared for if they were still with us. Our parasite control consists of routine usage of pyrantel palmoate wormer. We also keep on hand other types of parasite control to be used as needed so that you can receive a puppy free of internal or external parasites. We believe that our puppies as well as our breeding dogs should to be cared for with all the TLC that they so deserve! We believe that caring for the needs of our pets goes beyond meeting their physical needs. All of our dogs have names and are called by that name when they are addressed by the members of our family. Each of our dogs have special days on which they are given careful grooming and one on one care and attention in addition to group play and interaction. We generally retire our breeding adults to a life of luxury in a loving pet home. We have had a lot of pleasant reviews from the recipients of our retired breeding dogs. |
